PC70 Carbon/Carbon Springs and Washers

Carbon/Carbon Fiber Composite (CFC) mechanical components, including springs and sprung washers, represent a significant advancement for high-temperature environments, an innovation pioneered by Neftec through their development of C/C short fibre technology. These components are engineered to excel in demanding applications like heat-treatment processes, where they outperform traditional metal parts by being exceptionally lightweight while offering superior strength, thermal stability, and minimal thermal expansion.

Neftec's pioneering work ensures that in heat-treatment furnaces, PC70 C/C springs and sprung washers maintain structural integrity and consistent performance under prolonged high-temperature exposure, without degradation. Their corrosion resistance and durability through thermal cycling significantly reduce maintenance and extend service life, providing reliable, long-lasting performance for critical assemblies.

All these pioneering benefits are now enhanced in our latest updated V2 spring, which features a flat-top and bottom design and is produced with Precision Japanese machining for unmatched quality and reliability.

Performance C/C Springs

The Carbon/Carbon spring is an excellent option for brazing applications. The springs are used to replace "deadweights" that are typically used in Brazing fixtures. Our C/C springs offer very precise and equal forces during heat-treatment brazing. This cannot be achieved in the same using a "deadweight" on a brazing fixture. Not only do you have a precise force using the C/C Spring you reduce the weight of your brazing fixture while having higher quality brazing results.

C/C springs are considerably lighter, this allows users to have a smaller brazing fixture due to not needing to support the same weight as a traditional brazing fixture using deadweights. This allows users to increase their productivity by using more smaller higher performing fixtures due to the smaller fixture size and weight savings.

Faster Production Cycles

C/C Springs do not require less thermal energy levels compared to deadweights to reach optimal brazing temperatures.

Sprung Washers

You would use a sprung washer over a coil spring in scenarios where space is extremely limited in the axial (height) direction. A flat or slightly dished washer provides a spring force within a very compact envelope, much thinner than a comparable coil spring could achieve. They are also ideal for distributing a preload or compensating for thermal expansion across a broad surface, such as under a bolt head or nut.

Energy Efficiency

C/C springs are more energy efficient due to excellent thermal conductivity. This makes a brazing fixture with a C/C spring more energy efficient. This helps reduce energy consumption which helps low overall production costs.
